Ford Mondeo 2.0 LX. This car does have high mileage – just under 250, 000. This has been accumulated primarily on the motorway and mainly over the last 3 and a half years running daily 250 miles from Blackpool to the West Midlands and back, but it's been well maintained and therefore has many tens of thousands of miles left in it. Amongst new parts fitted recently are new discs and pads all round, a new battery, track rod ends and shock absorbers as well as having had a recent oil change. The MOT is valid until 31 Mar 2010 but the tax lapsed at the end of Sep. Both the petrol and LPG systems work well with the car starting first time every time. The healthy compressions range from 150 to 165psi and the oil consumption is approx ½ litre every 1000 miles. The engine runs fine with just a slight tappet tick, nothing unusual merely an excessive clearance which has been lived with as it doesn’t affect the cars running in any way. The air-con is not operable.
